Feedback from Digital Literacy Presentation

by Merianna Neely on May 15, 2012

I realized that I never shared how the digital literacy presentation, which the GMail/Google Apps class was a part of, went.

This was my audience:

As we explored the possibilities of using digital literacy to not only expand on own understanding of what “church” means, we also ventured to ponder if digital literacy could expand our church’s walls to include a broader audience, different demographics and diverse backgrounds.

Here are the responses at the end of the presentation:

I call that a success!

Preparation for Last Class

April 26, 2012

As I prepared for today’s last class, I found myself wondering why I committed to only 6-weeks. I know that this is practically what worked out for me in my schedule and I know that there had to be a stopping point, but when you get involved in people’s lives in for 1 hour every [...]

Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise

April 23, 2012

Keystones has been working with two non-profits to better articulate their stories through purposeful web design and content placement. There isn’t one right way to create your digital presence, but when organizations chose their digital presences based on their core values and their personal stories, it makes a big impact on their audience. Refresh Again

GMail Class 2

March 29, 2012

Today in class, we read and analyzed an email from Merianna to see if she had written using formal, business format or not. We helped explain to her what she had left out and why it was important. Then we moved onto Google Calendar. We made sure that we had the rest of our classes [...]

Social Media Missional Integration

March 27, 2012

Social Media is not a passing fade nor is it something that churches can catch up on later. In order to minister in today’s church, social media has to be a part of the discussion in some way: For church leaders—keen to deepen the authentic community at the heart of Christianity—the metaphor is apt. And [...]

Digital Literacy Gospel

March 26, 2012

This week, Keystones started a 6-week course for a group of people who are struggling to find employment. The class started by helping these individuals set up GMail accounts and discussing how usernames would be perceived by potential employees. We also included in our discussion password strength and how to best protect our accounts from [...]
